Start Your Own Hypertufa Garden Business
Hypertufa History
This is a garden accessory business using old technology that has been around in Europe since the 1800's and transforming it into interesting light weight garden items that will greatly enhance any garden.
Island Garden Design has taken this old technology to a new level with the use of metal molds, rubber molds and by designing and developing a lathe
attachment that allows us to carve and shape the hypertufa bowls or pots
into almost any shape.
Hypertufa is a mixture of peat moss, perlite, portland cement and water. Hypertufa is very versatile, it can be hand molded,
form molded and carved or lathed by the use of our hypertufa lathe. Hypertufa is lighter in weight than cement, more pleasing to look at, fairly strong,
aesthetically appealing in a garden setting, it is also strong enough to withstand the freeze/thaw cycle of Canadian winters.
When Hypertufa is sanded and finished it has the appearance of granite rock without the heavy weight of rock. Hypertufa is very easy to work with and takes little space to set up making it an ideal business opportunity for the home based business entrepreneur.
Island Garden Design Ltd. will be setting up independent dealers in areas across the country who will work independently of each other, however, will have the support of Island Garden Design.
